Basti is stuck - in his job and in his life. When his alcoholic mother falls into a coma, he has to return home. There he is confronted with the life he left behind: provincial mentality, friends from the past and a relationship with his father that is as cordial as the daily news. In addition to these power struggles and the curious questions of the neighbors, he meets Leonie, a cancer patient who gives him a new perspective. Because it's better to live half a life than to waste a whole one.
